Our new website is here!

Exciting changes are happening at Sentience. We have just finished a rebranding of our site and launched an English version for our international audience. If you are new to our work, here is a quick overview of recent developments.

At a political level, Sentience currently has two popular initiatives underway that pursue the aim of centering animal interests in the public discourse. The national Initiative against factory farming calls for higher animal protection standards and the abolition of factory farming. The initiative will be debated in the winter session 2021 of the National Council. If it goes through, it could lead to a national referendum, taking the issue of factory farming to voters for the very first time.

In the canton of Basel-Stadt, we are running the Primate Initiative campaign. We want to guarantee the right to life and the right to mental and physical integrity for primates. The referendum will be held on 13 February 2022.

After seven years of political advocacy for animals, we think it’s time to be more visible in our impact and professionalism. Our logo and website have been given a makeover. We have also been able to expand our team over the last year.

We are pleased to welcome nine new team members in the areas of campaigns, communications, and fundraising. Together with our Board of Directors, Advisory Board and volunteers, the team brings critical animal issues to the political floor. What do you think of our new look? Please take a moment to let us know.
